In a renewed demonstration of his commitment to grassroots development, Mr. Kufre Ekpoh, Special Assistant to Governor Umo Eno on New/Digital Media, has again extended generous support to his hometown, Ikot Mbong in ONNA Local Government Area.

As the community’s football team intensifies preparation for its ongoing yuletide tournament, Mr. Ekpoh donated complete football kits and made a cash contribution to further motivate the players toward victory.

Presenting the items and financial support in the presence of the village council and excited youths, Ekpoh expressed joy in contributing to the growth and unity of his community. He noted that sports play a central role in youth development and can open doors of opportunity for talented players.

“I will always do my best to support this community in my own little way,” he assured.
“Use these kits well, stay disciplined, and give your all. This cash support is to encourage you to go out there and win the tournament for Ikot Mbong.”

He reminded the players that many great athletes began their journey in small local communities, emphasizing that dedication, humility, and hard work can take any young person to the top.

In his remarks, the Village Head of Ikot Mbong, Eteidung Ezekiel, expressed deep appreciation to the governor’s aide. He described the gesture as timely, inspiring, and perfectly aligned with the people-centered vision of Governor Umo Eno’s administration.

“Mr. Ekpoh has kept to his promise and continues to stand by this community. We appreciate his efforts and commend him for always remembering home,” the village head said.

Also speaking, the team lead thanked the donor for both the football kits and the cash support. He noted that the gesture has boosted the players’ confidence and assured that the team would give their best throughout the tournament.

“We are motivated. We will make the community proud and remain supportive of him whenever his leadership is needed,” he affirmed.

The donation has ignited renewed enthusiasm across Ikot Mbong, with many residents confident that the community team now stands a stronger chance in the competition.

As the yuletide season approaches, this act of generosity continues to inspire unity, hope, and a brighter sporting future for the youths of ONNA.
