Pastor Umo Eno was born on April 24, 1964, in his hometown, Ikot Ekpene Udo in Nsit Ubium Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.
He attended Local Authority Primary School in Lagos State, where he got his first school leaving certificate. He also attended St. Francis Secondary School in Eket, Akwa Ibom State, and Victory High School in Ikeja, Lagos State, for his secondary education.
Eno obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Public Administration from the University of Uyo and later Master’s and doctorate degrees in the same field.
After his secondary school education, he worked at Union Bank for some years before moving to Bertola Machine Tools Nigeria Limited and then to Norman Holdings Limited, where he became the chief executive officer (CEO) before setting up Royalty Groups, his private concern.
In January 2021, Eno was appointed Commissioner for Lands and Water Resources in Akwa Ibom State by then Governor Udom Emmanuel.
The following year, Eno resigned from the position to run for the governorship. He won the election and was inaugurated on May 29, 2023.
Due to his outstanding performance since then, there is a widespread clamour by the people for the Governor to run for a second term.
Eno is an ordained cleric and the Under-shepherd of the All Nations Christian Ministry International in Eket, a ministry called to build a community of Christian Believers that transcend race, tribe, colour, tradition and denominations into a kingdom-focused church.
