The newly elected national executive officers of Association of Oruk Anam indigenes of Nigeria have been sworn-in with a charge on them to render selfless service, be focused and livein harmony with one another so as to attract socio-economic and political development to the area and state at large.
The vice president II of Akwa Ibom Community (AKISCOM) Lagos, Mr Silas Udoh, a lawyer, gave the charge while conducting the swearing in of the national executive officers of the association at a colourful ceremony which took place at AKISCOM secretariat, Yaba, Lagos, recently.
Those sworn-in were: Apostle Raphael Elijah, national president; Deacon Bright Eseneowo, vice president 1; Mrs Glory Browndy, vice president 2; Uduak Peter, assistant general secretary; Mr Abasiubong Jonah, treasurer; Chief Thompson Edongo Akpan, financial secretary; Comrade Chris Idiong, public relations officer (PRO) and Deacon Lucky Ekpo, coordinator.
Others were Mrs Doris Ekong, women leader; Mrs Martha Isang, welfare officer and Mr. Friday Peter, auditor.
Udoh congratulated the newly sworn-in officers, sayingOruk Anam people in general who are known to be hardworking, peace and progress loving, God fearing, intelligent and disciplined, should continue to keep the high moral standards and values, work collectively to ensure continuous progress for themselves, area and society at large.
He pointed out that the leadership of Akwa Ibom Community, AKISCOM, Lagos, were also proud of Oruk Anam indigenes who are members of the community and outgoing leadership of the association for their immense contributions to the development of AKISCOM, and prayed for the successful tenure of the new officers.
The outgoing national president, Elder Daniel Umoh, while appreciating God for a successful, remarkable and peaceful tenure, thanked members for support, love and co-operation received.
While congratulating the new officers, he assured them that he will always be there for them with useful advice from time to time when need arises, as well as gave them fatherly blessings.
The new national president, Apostle Raphael Elijah, expressed his readiness to serve and assured members of the association that he would not betray the confidence reposed on him at any time, while also pledging his loyalty and commitment to the growth of the association.
He solicited the cooperation, love, commitment of members and past leaders as well as the elders, for him and team to serve the people and association better, advising every member to tolerate and embrace peace and meaningful ventures that would advance their rapid growth.
Elijah, as his first official assignment, inaugurated members of planning committee of the forthcoming Oruk Anam Economic Summit 2022, headed by Prince Victor Ezekiel, an entrepreneur.
The swearing in ceremony had delegations from Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District (IKSD), Lagos, Apostle Emmanuel Dan; Obong Iberedem Akwa Ibom, Chief Justine Eshiet; executive members of Essien Itien; Akwa Ibom Community, AKISCOM, Lagos, and executive members of different chapters of the host association.
