UYO
The New Testament Gospel Church (NTG) Women’s Fellowship has concluded its 2025 Rebuild Conference in Uyo, which was a three-day spiritual gathering that blended workshops, impactful teachings, panel discussions, and worship experiences aimed at equipping women to rediscover their God-given identity and purpose.
Themed, “I Am More Than Enough,” the event was held at the church auditorium, No. 8 Akpan Essien Lane B, off Akpan Essien Street, Uyo and attracted women from diverse backgrounds across the State.
In her welcome address, the Women’s Fellowship President, Minister Imaobong David, described the conference as a divinely inspired platform for holistic empowerment.
“This conference is about rediscovering who we are in Christ and embracing the fullness of God’s plan for our lives. We will not only hear the Word of God but also gain practical knowledge, share experiences, and build one another up in faith. It is my prayer that no woman will leave here the same way she cam,” she said.
Day One of the conference featured hands-on workshops on skill acquisition, including the preparation of buns, puff-puff, pancakes, and the local beverage zobo, emphasizing the role of creativity and self-reliance in women’s economic empowerment.
In a keynote message, Pastor Rejoice Ekele of Living Faith Church, urged women to reject societal pressures and rediscover their worth in God, saying, “Until women begin to see themselves in the light of God’s Word, they will continue to live below their true potential, struggling for validation from people who may not even deserve it”.
She highlighted three guiding questions: Who are you? (identity); What is your worth? (value); Why are you here? (purpose), grounding her message in 1 Peter 2:9 and Isaiah 43:1. Using Rachel’s biblical story, she emphasized that rejection never nullifies God’s plan, charging women to embrace their uniqueness in fulfilling destiny.
The day also featured a panel discussion on “Self discovery; its role in purpose fulfillment and Self- sufficiency”, moderated by Pastor Mrs. Mfoniso Bob, with Pastor Udeme Akpan of Living Faith Church; Emem Ekpong, a senior banking executive; Pastor Uduak Otu of Royal Community Ministry and; Dr Mandu Ikpe, chief consultant radiologist, as panelists, during the discussion that revolved around the journey through self-discovery, its challenges, navigating barriers, building effective support network and mind transformation.
The panelists stressed that true identity can only be secured in Christ and highlighted self-reflection, intentional growth, and letting go of the past as vital steps to personal development.
The conference climaxed on Day Three with a thanksgiving service marked by vibrant drama presentations, spirit-filled song ministrations, and a special birthday celebration in honour of the senior pastor and his wife.
In a sermon on, “The Dangers of Assumption in Destiny Journey,” the guest minister, Pastor Uduak Otu, drawing her text from 1 Samuel 23:1–13, cautioned believers against making life decisions without divine direction.
She said, “The worst thing that can happen to a child of God is assuming that God is with you, only to discover that you are alone in the journey of life,” she warned. “Always seek the face of God. Don’t assume, seek divine guidance and direction.”
The conference ended with participants testifying of renewed strength, deeper conviction, and fresh commitment to live out their God-ordained purpose.
