NDC Flag Bearer For Oron Federal Constituency Progress Okuk Albert, Appreciates kinsmen On Landslide Victory At Primaries.

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) flag bearer for Oron Federal Constituency seat in the  House of Representatives, come 2027, Ms. Progress Okuk Albert, has expressed her profound  gratitude to the people of Oron Federal Constituency for their overwhelming support and confidence which culminated into her emergence as the party’s flag bearer in the just concluded election primaries.

Ms. Okuk expressed her gratitude during a thank-you visit to NDC  party leaders, stakeholders and supporters in Oron Local Government Area, affirming  that her victory was a collective triumph for the people of Oro Nation. She assured party faithful that she will do her best to justify the confidence reposed on  her by providing a purposeful, responsive and people-centred representation if elected in 2027.

Ms. Progress Okuk Albert thanked the leadership and members of the NDC for the confidence reposed in her during the primaries. She reaffirmed her commitment to building an inclusive representation that would prioritize youth empowerment, women’s development, educational advancement, infrastructure, healthcare, and sustainable economic opportunities across the five local government areas that make up the constituency.

She assured  the people of Oron Federal Constituency that her representation would be driven by accessibility, accountability and regular engagement with constituents, stressing that every community within Oron Federal Constituency would have a voice in legislative decision-making. According to her.

“The era of distant representation would give way to leadership that listens, consults and delivers measurable dividends of democracy.” She noted

The NDC House of Representatives hopeful pledged to champion people -oriented bills and attract constituency projects that would stimulate economic growth, improve rural infrastructure, empower fishermen, traders and farmers, and create employment opportunities for young people. She maintained that the abundant human and natural resources in Oro Nation deserve stronger advocacy and effective representation at the National Assembly.

In his remark, the  NDC chairman, Akwa Ibom State, Dr. Bassey Effiong Willie, thanked the people of Oron Federal Constituency for entrusting  Ms Progress Okuk Albert with the party’s ticket. He also commended the House of Representatives hopeful for returning to appreciate party members and supporters who worked tirelessly to ensure her victory at the primaries.

Dr. Willie further described the founder and national leader of the NDC, Hon. Henry Seriake, as a visionary leader whose political philosophy and commitment to national development inspired the formation of the party.
According to him, “Nigeria is on the verge of collapse, and that is why the National Democratic Congress is presenting itself as a credible alternative to rescue the nation and provide purposeful leadership in 2027.”
The state chairman emphasised the critical role women play in nation-building,  stressing that empowering women means  empowering families and the society at large. He urged the electorate to set aside sentiments and support Ms. Progress Okuk Albert, whom he described as a competent and marketable candidate capable of delivering quality representation.

He  also called on party members to work collectively for the success of all NDC candidates in the 2027 elections, while expressing support for the presidential aspirations of Peter Obi, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, and Enyong under the party’s platform.

Speaking on behalf of stakeholders, the NDC House of Assembly hopeful for Urue-Offong/Oruko State Constituency, Mr. Inyang Lawrence Edem, charged party members to remain united ahead of the 2027 general elections. He assured the leadership of the party that his candidates would justify the confidence of the electorate if entrusted with the people’s mandate.
