MPM Inaugurates Ogun Unit Steering Committee

As political activities in Nigeria gravitate towards the 2023 general elections, Maintain Peace Movement (MPM), has inaugurated its Ogun State unit steering committee with a  charge on members to massively mobilize more supporters for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidates and be ready to vote in Akwa Ibom in particular.

The Ogun State unit steering committee members inaugurated were: Messrs Oku Nkanga, John Udokim, Uduak John and Dickson Etoufok as coordinator, deputy coordinator, general secretary and assistant general secretary.

Others are: Rev. Victor Peter, treasurer; Mr. Victor Jimmy, public relations officer; Mr. Aniefiok Ntia, financial secretary and assistant PRO; Mrs. Glory Udoh, women leader; Mrs. Grace Nkanga, assistant women leader and Mrs. Kate Charles, organising secretary.

Others are: Mr. Idorenyin Jeremiah, youth leader; Mr. Bassey Williams, adviser; Obong Bassey Ebong, adviser; Mr. Emmanuel Sunday and Mr. Imoh John, zonal coordinators.

Lagos chapter coordinator of MPM, Otuekong Ubong Jackson, gave the charge while inaugurating members of the unit at a well attended and colourful ceremony held at the event hall of Queensway Guest House, Sango Otta, Ogun State, South-west, Nigeria, last Saturday.

The Ogun State unit of the movement which is under the Lagos State chapter, Jackson said, working with people of the unit, zones, will add more value and increase numbers of expected voters during the election.

The Lagos chapter coordinator who was accompanied by the general secretary, Obong Kingsley Mbre and other executive officers and local government area steering committee members of the movement, said he was impressed by the large turnout of Akwa Ibom indigenes in Ogun State who are also card carrying members of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and for hearing from them that so many of them as well had successfully registered and transferred their voters card to their various units and local government areas in Akwa Ibom State, in readiness to vote in the forthcoming general election.

He assured them of every necessary support for them to be home during the election period.

Speaking further, Jackson also charged the unit steering committee leadership to massively reach out to majority of other Akwa Ibom indigenes in their areas who may not have been privilege on information and inform them about the movement.

While advising them also to be steadfast on the step they have taken, Jackson reassured them that their expectations shall not be cut off.

In his acceptance speech, the unit coordinator, Mr. Oku Nkanga, pledged his utmost readiness and commitment to serve in line with the laid down standard and principle of the movement.

He said as someone who knows what to do at every given time, he will along with his executive members deliver effectively and efficiently.

Nkanga thanked the Lagos chapter team for recognizing them, promised to live to expectation.

The inauguration ceremony had in attendance the Ogun State PDP stalwarts including Mr Tajudeen Solutions who came to felicitate with Akwa Ibom people in their state.
