The League of Akwa Ibom Professionals (LAkPROF), a foremost professional association based in Abuja, has congratulated Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno, PhD, on his third anniversary in office and the state on its 38th anniversary of creation.
In a goodwill message signed by its President, Mr. John Umoren, and made available to The Pioneer, the association joined millions of Akwa Ibom people at home and in the Diaspora in celebrating what it described as Governor Eno’s impactful leadership and developmental strides over the past three years.
According to Umoren, the governor’s administration has been distinguished by innovation, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to building a prosperous homeland for all Akwa Ibom citizens through the implementation of the ARISE Agenda.
He noted that the association was proud to identify with Governor Eno’s sincere and resolute leadership style, which he said has earned him admiration among Akwa Ibom sons and daughters across the globe.
“On this auspicious occasion, we sincerely congratulate Governor Umo Eno, the government and people of Akwa Ibom State. We also appreciate the support and cooperation of citizens which have enabled the successful implementation of the ARISE Agenda for the benefit of the people,” Umoren stated.
The LAkPROF President expressed confidence that Akwa Ibom State possesses an abundance of highly educated, skilled, experienced and patriotic citizens whose collective capacities can be harnessed to drive sustainable development and create lasting prosperity.
He prayed for divine guidance as citizens continue to contribute their expertise toward the advancement of the state.
Speaking on the association, Umoren explained that LAkPROF, headquartered at Akwa Ibom House in the Central Business District, Abuja, is open to indigenes of Akwa Ibom State who are of good character, possess formal education from recognized institutions, are gainfully employed and practice recognized professions or occupations established by law.
He added that prospective members must be financially responsible and should not have been declared bankrupt by any competent authority, while honorary membership may be conferred on distinguished individuals subject to approval by the association’s National Executive Committee.
Describing LAkPROF as an apolitical body, Umoren said the association was established to provide an elite platform for supporting government initiatives, promoting job creation, encouraging a healthy business environment and combating the “Da Ibagha Ba” syndrome.
He disclosed that the association’s motto is “Excellence, Unity and Prosperity”, while its objectives include fostering professional networking, promoting economic, social and cultural interests of members, supporting research and development initiatives, and strengthening collaboration between professionals and the Akwa Ibom State Government.
The association, he said, remains committed to mobilising support for good governance and sustainable development across the state.
Umoren further commended members for their contributions to the growth of the association, noting that professionals bring valuable expertise, fresh perspectives and innovative solutions to societal challenges.
He urged members to remain resilient and steadfast in the pursuit of excellence, stressing that the association would continue to serve as a platform for intellectual growth, collaboration and transformative leadership.
“As leaders in various fields, we must continue to lead with purpose, inspire with vision and work together to build a future where development knows no boundaries,” he said.
He expressed optimism that through collaboration, mutual support and shared commitment, professionals would play a significant role in shaping the future development of Akwa Ibom State.
