Fifty seven years ago, she touched down this earth.  From her date of arrival, to her departure, fifty seven years after, she lived patiently.

She lived fulfilled. She got education. She worked. She got married. She bore children. She trained them. She trained others. She served God. She cared for her family and others and was a source of strength to her husband.

As Gold begets Gold; with a golden voice, she sweetly cast her husband’s name and image in gold, as she nicknamed him – The Golden Boy!

Talking about the “Golden Boy” today in Nigeria is talking about the Akwa Ibom State Governor, His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno.

The name “Golden Boy”, today, resonates in Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria and in the diaspora and remains Golden and indelible; not only in her husband’s heart, but also in the hearts of many.

The name today, has become a “golden egg”, very palatable and cherished by countless number of people.

However, like “the goose” that lay the “golden egg”, the wife of Governor Umo Eno, Her Excellency, the Late Pastor Mrs. Patience Umo Eno, the first lady of Akwa Ibom State and people; our mother, grand mother, sister, aunty, in-law, friend, counselor, care giver and a lot more to a lot of us, suddenly has, in a peaceful flight, flown away, to a higher glory.

Yes, it is sad. Yes, it is untimely. Yes, it is painful. Yet, let us not despair, as she is not just gone, but gone to rest and align with the Heavens to take charge of those she has left behind and to as well charge the Heavens to continue to give strength to her “Golden Boy” to continue to lead aright.

We all ,therefore, owe her and her “Golden Boy” – our spiritual and compassionate father, a true Akwa Ibom son , our Boss, the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno, our prayers – that she rests perfectly in the Lord and grants the Governor the grace to move on gracefully.
