… Commends Gov EnoFor Allocating ₦1 billion For Projects In Ibiono Ibom

In a bid to further strengthen a robust working relationship with the men of the Fourth Estate of the Realm, the member representing Ibiono Ibom State Constituency has pledged to partner journalists from Ibiono Ibom extraction to promote development in the area.
Mr. Moses Essien,who made the pledge during a media chat with journalists from the area at his residence in Uyo,recently, emphasised the importance of a strong and effective media in showcasing the achievements and challenges of Ibiono Ibom Local Government Area.
The lawmaker acknowledged the critical roles played by journalists in shaping public opinions and holding public officeholders accountable and expressed his commitment to work closely with them to advance the interest of the community.
As part of his vows, Essien, who chairs House Committees on Health as well as Nutrition and Food and Security, promised to provide support and resources to journalists from Ibiono Ibom, including training and capacity building opportunities to enable them to discharge their duties effectively.
He also offered to establish and sustain a dependable regular interface with journalists so as to furnish them with his activities and initiatives, which in turn will help them to have a timely and accurate information for the betterment of all.
Equally, he commended Governor Umo Eno for allocating ₦1 billion in the 2025 budget for the construction of roads and a general hospital in Ibiono Ibom, saying this allocation demonstrates the governor’s passion and commitment to developing Ibiono Ibom through various projects, including roads construction, housing estates and the Dakkada Skills Acquisition Centre.
His words, “The governor has demonstrated his passion and commitment to develop Ibiono Ibom through the various projects he has awarded contracts, which include the construction of Use Ikot Amaama – Ibiaku Ikot Esifa-ItonNkwot Edem Edet and Ikpanya Road, housing estates, Ring Road 3 through Idoro Road to Ikot AdaIdem and ensuring the commencement of academic activities at Dakkada Skills Acquisition Centre, Ikot AdaIdem among others”.
On their part, Comr. Etoro-obong Inyang and Effiong Usoro, while extolling the kind gesture of the lawmaker, said the act was a strong indication that a positive development would enhance their ability to report on issues that affect the community.
They expressed their appreciation for Essien’s commitment to transparency and accountability and pledged to work with him to continually promote the development of Ibiono Ibom.
Also, the special assistant and media aide to the member, Comrade Wisdom Ebu, who praised the lawmaker for all his lofty projects in Ibiono Ibom, said the partnership between Essien and journalists from Ibiono Ibom is expected to yield positive results, including improved reportage on the activities of the state government, increased awareness about the challenges and opportunities facing the community as well as enhance accountability and transparency in governance.
On her part, Comrade Uduak Akai drew the attention of the lawmaker to the deplorable state of Afaha Obio Eno Road in Ward 6, appealing to the lawmaker to draw the attention of the government to the road for urgent construction to give the people a new lease of life and a sense of belonging.
Also speaking, Comrade Unyime Etim appreciated Essien for going out of his way to host his constituents who are in the pen profession, adding that the magnanimous gesture has creditably distinguished him from his contemporaries.
