From Emmanuel Iyoho

ABUJA

The minister of state, Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs, Sharon Ikeazor, has said that she would bring the experiences she garnered in the course of her service to the nation from various establishments to bear in the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs.

The minister of state, who was redeployed from the Ministry of Environment, stated this while being received in the ministry in Abuja recently.

According to her, “My coming to Niger Delta is like homecoming. When we talk about environmental degradation, community development; it is the Niger Delta region, the experience I had in the Ministry of Environment, I’ll bring into the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs”.

She expressed gratitude to President Muhammadu Buhari for the opportunity granted her to head the Pension Transitional Arrangement Directorate, stating that the job was most fulfilling as she was able to impact lives of the senior citizens.

“I was assigned to another ministry that their work impacts on the lives of the whole Nigeria, the whole world, the environment we depend on, the air we breathe, food we eat…that was another fulfilling work”, she added.

She further pledged her unflinching support to actualizing the mandate and vision of the ministry for the good of Nigerians and the Niger Deltans within the short period in office.

“We will all serve at the pleasure of Mr. President, anywhere I work, I make sure I deliver on the legacy of President Muhammadu Buhari”, she stated.

In his welcome address, the permanent secretary, MNDA, Mr. Olufunso Olusesan Adebiyi, assured her of the commitment of staff of the ministry towards their duties and fulfilment of its mandate.

“We are going to give you all humanly support to make sure you succeed…I want to assure you our loyalty and high sense of commitment to duty”.

He added that the ministry would make a remarkable change in the region within the short period in the office.
