Gov Umo Eno has announced plans by his administration to build Youth-friendly Centres in all the 31 local government areas of the State.
Eno, during the inauguration of the 10.412km Hospital – Ukpom Abak – Idoro – Pepsi Junction Road project, which traverses Uyo and Abak Local Government Areas of the State, recently, said the soon to be flagged off project would galvanize young people in the hinterland and develop their skills for better productivity and profitable living.
He made known that local government chairmen were expected to provide a space within their domain for construction of the centres that would enable youths of the State to develop, upgrade and promote their creative skills and make the best out of their lives.
“Each local government chairman will give us a space within their local governments so that we can build Youth-friendly Centres for our young people to develop, upgrade, and promote their creative skills and make the best out of their lives”, Eno stated.
The governor, therefore, charged youths to rise to the occasion and get ready for the planned project.
He lauded a virtually impaired law graduate, Udeme Emmanuel Ekanem, Esq, who graduated recently from the Nigerian Law School through his sponsorship, for his doggedness and directed the head of civil service, Elder Effiong Essien, and the commissioner for Justice, Mr Uko Essien Udom, SAN, to ensure his immediate employment into the State civil service with effect from August 1,  2025, alongside appropriate posting and mobilisation for work.
