In line with the biblical instruction in Proverbs 16:3, “Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and your plans will succeed,”(NIV), Akwa Ibom State Gov. Umo Eno has commenced a three-day prayer summit to seek God’s assistance and guidance as his administration begins its third year.
The prayer summit, which is taking place at the International Christian Worship Centre, Uyo, has as its theme: “Nations will come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your dawn” drawn from Isaiah 60:3.
The three-day inspirational spiritual interface began on Thursday June 11, 2025 and will last till Friday, June 13, 2025.
Giving the initial charge on the theme, a former state chairman of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Rev. Ndueso Ekwere, stressed that no nation or people would be attracted to a particular place without something spectacular happening in the place.
Ekwere highlighted that there is an extraordinary light and brightness in Akwa Ibom that attracts kings, nations and people for more blessings and growth.
He admonished Christians to key into the light and glory of the state for their extraordinary transformation, progress and greatness in life.
Delivering a message on the topic “Drop the Measuring Tape,” taken from Zachariah 2:1-5, Pastor Mensa Otabil of International Central Gospel Church in Accra, Ghana, prayed that God should raise a new generation of African leaders, like Eno, who would truly turn around the fortunes of the continent for the better.
He admonished the governor and Christians to drop their standard measuring line in the state for God’s standard and abundance of blessings to prevail beyond what any human can measure, “For I,” says the LORD, will be a wall of fire all around her, and I will be the glory in her midst.”
The event which featured sessions of praise, worship, choir renditions, song ministrations, intercessory prayers, was graced by members of the State Executive Council, clergies, political class, dignitaries and Christians within and outside the state.
