The Akwa Ibom governor has been invested as Patron of the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations (NIPR).
Pastor Umo Eno’s investiture took place on Thursday, as part of the Nigerian Public Relations Week, which took place in Uyo, with the theme, “Beyond Headlines: Harnessing Public Relations for Economic Renaissance”.
Decorating the governor with the paraphernalia of the office, the national president of the Institute and Chairman of the Council, Dr Ike Neliaku, said the honour was in line with the acknowledgement of the role of the Patron as the guiding light of the NIPR in promoting the organisation’s code, professional standard and solemn commitment to create a more reputation-conscious society where the dignity and pride of all people and cultures in the land are respected.
Neliaku acknowledged with satisfaction the numerous achievements of Governor Eno in the various sectors of the economy, noting that through the ARISE Agenda blueprint of his administration, lives of the citizens have been touched.
Responding, Eno expressed appreciation to the Institute for the honour done him and pledged to abide by the code of conduct that governs the NIPR as well as support the ideals of the organisation.
