As Governor Umo Eno marks three years in office, a cross-section of residents, professionals, community leaders, and stakeholders have described his administration as one defined by peace, continuity, inclusiveness, and visible impacts.
In separate interviews, the respondents unanimously agreed that the governor has delivered commendable achievements through the implementation of the ARISE Agenda, which has touched infrastructure, healthcare, agriculture, education, tourism, and social welfare.
In his assessment, an
Assistant Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Customs Service, ACG Aloysius Umoh, described Gov. Eno’s leadership as transformative, especially in aviation and tourism development.
He said the governor’s commitment to continuity has ensured the completion and advancement of inherited projects such as the Ibom Hotel and International Conference Centre at the Tropicana Complex.
According to him, “the governor is turning Akwa Ibom into Nigeria’s aviation and tourism hub,” noting the expansion of Ibom Air, training of aviation professionals, and the strengthening of the Victor Attah International Airport as key milestones.
However, he urged the governor to revive moribund industries such as the Akwa Palm Estates, Ibom Paint Factory, Plywood and Pencil factories to further boost employment.

According to the Women Leader of the Arise with Renewed Hope Initiative, Nkoyo Essien, Abuja chapter, the administration’s impact on rural communities, especially in roads, healthcare, and women empowerment programmes is worthy of commendation.
She said improved road infrastructure in areas like Nsit Ubium has enhanced the movement of farm produce and improved access to healthcare, while urging further investment in schools and market.
Some respondents stressed the need to improve electricity supply, revive the industrial sector, and expand economic opportunities through private sector participation and better management of state-owned assets.
Other respondents namely, Mr. Elijah Ifot, Board of Trustees, BoT chairman, Akwa Ibom State Community, AKISCOM, Lagos State; Pastor Peter Utin, founder, Life Transformation Pentecostal Ministries and President/CEO, Utin’s Destiny Achievers Foundation; Barr.
