Akwa Ibom governor has expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of work at the ongoing reconstruction site of the Ibom International Hotel, Uyo, describing the project as a state-of-the-art facility designed to meet global standards.
Pastor Umo Eno, who bared his mind, Wednesday, while interacting with Government House correspondents shortly after inspecting the ongoing reconstruction work at the 14-floor facility located along the State’s Shopping City corridor within the Tropicana Entertainment Centre in Uyo, lauded the contractor for their dedication to work, urging them to adhere to the project’s delivery timeline.
According to him, “sometimes to fix something that was abandoned might be much more difficult than starting a new one. But, from what we have seen here today, the contractor’s effort is encouraging, he must strive to stick to the delivery timeline for the project”.
The contractor, Samer Samara, an engineer, of RATCON Construction Company Limited, appreciated the state government for providing necessary resources for the project and assured that the project would be ready for inauguration as scheduled.
The Ibom International Hotel is a 200-bedroom facility designed to complement the State’s International Convention Centre and the Shopping City all geared towards boosting the State’s tourism assets.
The governor’s site inspection captured his determination to breathe life into abandoned projects and ensure timely completion for the collective benefit of Akwa Ibom people.
