Friday would be a busy day for Governor Umo Eno as he commissions the auditorium of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) and visits the state secretariat of the All Progressives’ Congress (APC).
The two engagements are taking place in Uyo.
At an emergency congress of the NUJ at the Press Centre on Wednesday, members were informed of the coming of the Governor.
One of the resolutions of the congress stated in part: ” It was unanimously agreed that the new building will be commissioned by the Governor on Friday, 1st August, 2025 and will be named after Patience Umo Eno.
“Time for the event will be made known before then.
“The redemption of car promises to Exco members will also be done on that day.
“All members are to wear the NUJ uniform for/to the event.”
Meanwhile, the State Chairman of the APC, Obong Stephen Ntukekpo, has issued a statement, inviting the party faithful and the general public to receive the Governor on his first visit to the state secretariat of the party since he joined the APC in June.
According to the statement, the gathering aims to demonstrate unity and solidarity with the Governor and leader of the party as they embark on a new chapter in their political journey.
The event, earlier scheduled to hold on Thursday, is now rescheduled for Friday by 4:00pm at the APC State Secretariat, 6 Ekpo Obot Street, Uyo,
The statement said “it will be a testament to the party’s commitment to the APC and the ARISE Agenda.”
It urged the party faithful to come out en masse to show appreciation for the Governor’s leadership and vision for a stronger, more progressive Akwa Ibom.
“The APC Akwa Ibom State Chapter is optimistic that this event will further strengthen the party’s unity and solidarity, ultimately leading to a brighter future for the state,” the statement added.
