Gov Umo Eno has stressed the need for a more equitable and prosperous society, as he charges government appointees, contractors and stakeholders to prioritise grassroots development and empowerment by sharing government largesse and dividends into tangible benefits for people at the grassroots.
Eno, who bared his mind recently, during a special Sunday service at the All Nations Christian Ministry International, ANCMI, Edemudo Street, Eket Local Government Area, said the need to reach out to the people at the grassroots necessitated the recently organised statewide ward meeting of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
According to him, “If this administration is benefiting you in one way or the other, make sure you share this benevolence with people in your villages for them to also feel the impact of this government.”
He stated that the grassroots meeting of the party would be repeated this December to consolidate stronger membership and loyalty to the party as well as sustain the people’s sense of belonging and confidence in our governance.
Eno reassured the people of his commitment to fixing failed portions of roads across the state as soon as the dry season sets in, and implored citizens and residents in Uyo, the state capital, and other places to exercise little patience for the rainy season to stop as all the poor roads within the areas would be adequately restored.
He hinted that all the failed portions of roads have been appropriately studied and recorded down for prompt remedial interventions as soon as the rainy season was over.
The governor explained that, roads and streets in Uyo metropolis and beyond would soon be provided with solar powered – light to befit its status as a tourist destination and provide the necessary security ambience.
Ministering on the theme, ”God sees,” with text drawn from Gen. 21:12, the undershepherd of the Church, Eno, admonished Christians to live with the consciousness that God sees and knows everything concerning their living on earth.
Eno reminded Christians against allowing their past and circumstances behind their birth to define who they are, as God’s ways were not their ways.
He said whatever situation one faces in life, God who sees humans would send an angel to them, urging them to hold on to God whom he assured, would help them.
Eno reminded the congregants that what God has kept for them shall surely come to pass, advising that they allow Him do what only Him can do.
“At times, God’s visitation to you may delay but He shall certainly visit you to turn around your situation for the best. Just relax and be patient,” the under-shepherd advised.
