
… Bags Leadership Excellence Award From Pupils

Governor Umo Eno has assured Akwa Ibom children of a safe and secure future, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to laying a solid foundation for their future as he received an Excellence Leadership Award from pupils of King’s Kids Christian Montessori School, Uyo.
Eno, who gave the assurance, recently, while receiving pupils from King’s Kids Christian Montessori School, Uyo, in his office, during an excursion to Government House, Uyo, noted that it was the foremost responsibility of government to provide a secure and peaceful environment for its citizens, as well as a safe and supportive academic atmosphere that fosters a strong educational foundation and enables children to excel in their studies.
He encouraged the pupils to be inspired by the visit, urging them to study hard and grow into responsible future leadersas his administration was working diligently to build a legacy that will enable them realise their dreams and aspirations.
The governor said despite his busy schedule, he made time to receive the pupils because of his deep passion and love for children.
“We are here to receive you, most importantly because I pay particular attention to children. The truth is that you are the future of the world. What you see and what you do today has a way of leaving a lasting impression on you.
“Our job is to make sure that you have a secure environment and a peaceful State where you can read your books and concentrate on your studies. I hope this visit will motivate and inspire you to study hard. We are giving our today because of your tomorrow so that we can build a lasting legacy for you to grow.
“We are working here to ensure that we maintain peace and order and also see to the welfare of all Akwa Ibomites. That is why your parents voted for us and sent us here to serve everyone,” he said.
The governor commended the teachers for their dedication, guidance, and commitment to nurturing the pupils, describing them as worthy role models.
Speaking on behalf of the pupils, the senior prefect, Miss Ruth Thank-God, expressed appreciation to the governor for the warm reception accorded them and for granting them audience despite his demanding schedule.
She commended the governor for his efforts in making the State a better place for all, describing him as a great leader and source of inspiration to young people.
The deputy head teacher (Academics), Mrs Grace Ben, thanked the governor for creating time to receive the pupils and for demonstrating genuine care and concern for children, noting that the visit would serve as a lasting source of inspiration for them.
The pupils were conducted round the Governor’s Office, presented with backpacks containing educational materials and meal packs, with each backpack specially decorated with the ARISE badge, which symbolically made them ambassadors of the initiative.
High point of the visit was the presentation of an Award of Leadership Excellence to the Governor by the pupils.
