The Akwa Ibom governor has appreciated Akwa Ibom people within and outside the State and country, and Nigerians for the outpouring of love shown him and his family during the home going ceremonies of the First Lady, late Pastor Patience Umo Eno.
Pastor Umo Eno, who bared his mind recently, at the December edition of the Government House Monthly Covenant Service, which took place at the Banquet Hall, Government House, Uyo, noted that the First Family was overwhelmed by the outpouring of love from Akwa Ibomites, Nigerians and those in the Diaspora over the demise of his wife, Patience.
Eno enjoined the people of the state to replicate the kind of love shown his family during their moment of grief in other State matters for the growth of the state, stressing that if such love is replicated, nothing would be impossible to overcome in the coming years.
He noted that such demonstration of love shown his family placed a huge burden on his shoulders for greater service to the people of the State, thanking all for identifying with them, and for their prayers and support.
Eno assured of his administration’s determination to diligently and continuously serve the people with all the things that God has given the state.
He urged Nigerians and Akwa Ibom people in particular, to endeavour to build bridges of love and peace which characterises the Christmas season, as Christians, the world over, prepare for this year’s celebration.
The governor stressed the need for all, irrespective of social standing, to spread love within their environment, and make people around them to feel the impact of God’s blessings in their lives.
He appreciated participants at the monthly covenant service for their sacrifices, and assured that God, through prayers of the faithful, shall continue to bless the State, even as he prayed for more blessings upon the State, particularly in the new month.
The national woman leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mrs. Amina Arong, said she was blessed to be part of the covenant service, as she was in the State to identify with the First Family and the State in general, over the demise of the First Lady.
Arong expressed the determination of her office and the women of the party to continuously partner the office of the First Lady, through the coordinator of the Office, Mrs. Helen Eno Obareki, to further on the impactful strides of her pet project, the Golden Initiative For All (GIFA).
Ministering on the theme, “Peace and Holiness with all Men”, with text taken from Matthew 1:23, Apostle Gboyega Shitta of Kingdom Power Ministries International, stressed the need for Christians to be in peace with each other, using Abraham as a model of peaceful co-existence as recorded in the scriptures.
According to Shitta, a peaceful life is rich due to its spiritual and physical benefits, urging all to see peace as an integral part of their lives.
