Gov Eno Advocates For Improved People-Oriented Services By Seplat Energy

The governor of Akwa Ibom has stressed the need for an improved people -oriented services from Seplat Energy, as he assured the company of the State government’s support in its vision and strategy to remain the leading independent energy provider in the country. 
Pastor Umo Eno, who bared his mind, Tuesday, during a courtesy call on him by the Board and Management of Seplat Group, led by Senator Udoma Udo Udoma, at Government House, Uyo, following its successful acquisition of Mobil Producing Nigeria Unlimited (MPNU), noted that the government under his leadership is people-oriented and will support initiatives that will benefit the people of the State.
Eno informed them of the enabling environment and good accommodations of international standard owned by the State, such as the Udom Emmanuel Towers, urging the oil company to consider acquiring spaces there to enhance its operations.
He also said the State has an employment portal which contains details of unemployed youths, and urged Seplat executives to visit the site and harvest the needed manpower whenever the need arises.
Eno recalled some of his experiences with ExxonMobil, was optimistic that, given the calibre of men in the management of Seplat Energy, led by Senator Udoma Udo Udoma, the company will soar.
The governor appreciated the team for the visit, and promised the company of necessary support to engender its success.
The chairman of the Board of Seplat Energy Group, Senator Udoma Udo Udoma, said the visit was to formally inform the governor that Seplat Energy Plc has acquired the entire share capital of Mobil Producing Nigeria Unlimited (MPNU) from Exxon Mobil Corporation, Delaware. 
Udoma, who was accompanied by the chief executive officer of Seplat Energy, Roger Brown, managing director, SEPNU, Mr. Oladotun Isiaka, director, External Affairs, Mrs. Chioma Afe, general manager, Corporate Services, Mrs. Eno Udobong-Ntia, general manager, Public and Government Affairs, Mr. Oge Udeagha, and Government Relations Lead, QIT, Mr. Esumo Effiong, noted that Seplat Energy is aware that MPNU operations has significant activities in the State, hence the visit to officially inform the governor of the development and to seek support and cooperation in ensuring a seamless transition from ExxonMobil to Seplat Energy Plc.
According to him, Septa Producing Nigeria Unlimited (SEPNU) operations will focus on ensuring safe operations, reopening shut-in wells, increasing production, embarking on an extensive drilling campaign, as well as unlocking the enormous gas reserves in those fields.
He said that SEPNU will seek to build a strong and mutually-beneficial relationship with the Akwa Ibom government, the communities within which they operate, and other stakeholders.
