Gov Emmanuel Approves Udung Uko Mbo Road Construction

Gov Udom Emmanuel has granted the request to construct the Udung Uko – Mbo Road axis to complete the economic value chain in the state.

 Consequently, Emmanuel has given assurance that the remaining roads and the additional ones in the communities would be completed by the first quarter of next year.   

 The governor gave the approval for the construction of the road during the inauguration of the Ulliong – Edikor – Edikor Udueta Road in Udung Uko Local Government Area, Tuesday.

 Emmanuel said that the construction of the road was hampered by unforeseen situations which visited states across the country, urging the people to have patience with the beginning of construction in the additional road projects in the area.

 The governor of Edo State, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, said the road was the beginning of thinking for the future of the communities, adding that the economic growth of Udung Uko has been wellplanned by the Emmanuel administration.

 Obaseki stated that the Emmanuel administration has injected professionalism in politics by giving the pillars of progress, adding that it was time for the local government administration to assist in the regular maintenance of the road to last longer in the interest of users.

 The chairman of Udung Uko, Mr. Atannag Osung, said the inauguration of the road was a landmark progress to the communities which have existed without motorable roads in the past, adding that the new road has provided ease of movement to the people.

 Osung stated that the road was a demonstration of good governance at the local government areas in the linking of over four local government areas to boost economic development.

 An indigene of the area, Chief Okon Osung, said that the Emmanuel administration by the inauguration of the road has changed the narratives of governance for the people of the hamlets in Udung Uko, noting that the generality of the people had suffered dearth of infrastructure for many decades.

 Osung explained that it was exciting to find motorable ways in the lifevtime of many persons in the area, maintaining that the project has endeared the people to the hearts of the government in the state.

It was watched by the wife of the governor, Dr MarthaEmmanuel, the state deputy governor, Mr. Moses Ekpo, the member representing Eket Senatorial District, Senator Akon Eyakenyi, royal fathers, women and the youths.
