Youths and women groups in Etim Ekpo and Ika Local Government Areas of Akwa Ibom State have called on an APC chieftain, Hon. Ubom Wisdom Sunday, to contest the Etim Ekpo/Ika State Constituency seat in the 2027 general elections.
The appeal was made over the weekend during separate interactions with journalists in Urua Inyang, headquarters of Ika LGA, and Utu Etim Ekpo, the administrative centre of Etim Ekpo LGA.
Speaking on behalf of youth leaders in Ika, Adede Saturday Inyang said their call followed a careful assessment of potential aspirants, noting that Ubom Sunday stands out based on his track record and contributions to community development.
He described the APC stalwart as “vibrant, dynamic, and God-fearing,” adding that he possesses the capacity to deliver effective and purposeful representation if elected.
“We will continue to appeal to him to come out and contest because we believe he is the best choice for the Etim Ekpo/Ika State Constituency,” Inyang said.
Other youth leaders echoed similar sentiments, citing his longstanding impact on the lives of constituents and expressing confidence in his ability to attract development to the area.
In Utu Etim Ekpo, women leaders also threw their weight behind the call, urging stakeholders to support Ubom Sunday’s potential candidacy.
One of the women, Mrs. Abigail Jonah, said the politician has demonstrated genuine concern for the welfare of the people, assuring that women in the constituency would continue to support and pray for him.
Hon. Ubom Wisdom Sunday has yet to publicly respond to the calls as of the time of filing this report.
