The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) Ward 2 Central Stakeholders’ Forum in Eket Local Government Area convened a pivotal meeting on Friday, December 8, to appraise the performance of the party in the ward since the inception of the present ward executive.
The meeting, which was chaired by the ward leader, Elder Nse Atang, brought together key stakeholders. Prominent among them were Chief Nduese Essien, chapter secretary, Samuel Akpan Okon, Hon Victor Henry, Essien Essien Esq, Dr. Bright Archibong, Lady Helen Archibong, Councillor Rose Sylvanus Akpan, ward chairman, Utibe Akpekong and ward secretary, Charles Friday David, Hon Tony Udoh, alongside other 17 invited stakeholders.
The Stakeholders commended the Ward executive for its effectiveness so far, particularly in piloting the ward to win the local government election massively. They, however, pointed out areas of deficiency and indiscipline which need improvement, moving forward.
Speaking during the meeting, Essien emphasized the importance of teamwork in advancing the goals of the party at the ward level.
He urged members to remain united and committed to strengthening the PDP’s influence and performances in the ward.
A significant highlight of the meeting was the election of Mr. Etebong Harry as an assistant leader of the Stakeholders’ Forum executives, while Elder Etukudo Essien was elected as Secretary.
The newly elected stakeholders’ Forum leaders were tasked to spearhead initiatives to foster unity and drive positive outcomes for the PDP in Ward 2 central.
The forum unanimously concluded with a renewed commitment from stakeholders to uphold the party’s values and work collaboratively towards its sustained progress in Eket.
