Edo State governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has launched fleet of new buses and vehicles to boost transportation and security in the state.
The event meant to commemorate the 100 days in office of the Governor has been described as a significant milestone in Governor Okpebholo’s administration.
The governor commissioned 56 new Toyota Hiace buses for the resuscitation of the Edoline Transport Service in an efforts to provide efficient and reliable transportation for the Edo people.
Additionally, 38 Toyota Hilux vans and 16 Prado Jeeps were inaugurated for security agencies to enhance their mobility and effectiveness in combating crime.
The former Edo Governor, Senator Adams Oshiomhole who graced the occasion, praised Gov. Okpebholo’s achievements, noting that the latter has accomplished what he could not during his own tenure.
Oshiomhole commended the governor’s courage and determination in reviving the State-owned transport service and providing security agencies with the necessary tools to fight crime.
The commissioner of Police, Betty Otimenyin, also expressed gratitude to the governor for providing the security vehicles, which are equipped with communication gadgets.
Otimenyin stated that the gesture was apt as the state government was at the verge of launching “Operation Rescue” to enhance security in the state.
Dignitaries present at the event included the deputy governor, Mr. Dennis Idahosa, and the Minister of Works, Dave Umahi among the host of others.
The development, according to the people, has been regarded as a testament to Governor Okpebholo’s “commitment to improving the lives of Edo State residents and ensuring the safety and well-being of the citizens.
