… To Organise In-House Training
UYO
As Akwa Ibom State Government gears efforts on tourism development, staff of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism have been charged to imbibe good ethical conduct as frontline tourism purveyors and ambassadors.
To this end, an in-house training is to be organised for staff to acquaint them with their expected roles as tourists guides and purveyors of the tourism story of Akwa Ibom to the outside world in their daily contacts with visitors and guests in the workplace, home, church and other major traffic lanes of the State.
The commissioner for culture and tourism, Dr. Anieti Udofia, gave the charge, Friday, while conducting the May edition of the monthly staff birthday celebration, at the Ministry’s foyer, Idongesit Nkanga Secretariat Complex, Uyo.
Udofia emphasised the need for staff of the Ministry to be updated with the development outlay of the tourism sector which, he said, is cardinal in the economic matrix of the State as enshrined in the ARISE Agenda, and called on management staff to take-up the in-house training as a matter of urgency.
Represented by the permanent secretary of the Ministry, Mrs. Grace Akpan, the commissioner expressed gratitude to God for granting the celebrators another opportunity to live and urged them to make their lives count through good and impactful living.
He wished the May-born celebrators a happy birthday and prayed God to bless and keep them to fulfill their destiny on earth.
Highpoints of the event were cutting of the birthday cake, toast to long life and presentation of birthday gifts to the celebrators amidst birthday chants.
