The Akwa Ibom governor has observed with displeasure the frequent attitude of leaving before the end of his appointment or abandoning the appointment, by members of the State Executive Council, describing it as a breach of protocol.
Pastor Umo Eno, whose position was contained in a release issued by the secretary to the state government, Prince Enobong Uwah, on Friday, tagged, “Final Warning: Re: Breach of Protocol”, said such act was unacceptable in all ramification.
Uwah, as indicated in the release, noted that state executive council members were particularly expected to show good example by staying through the governor’s appointments and escorting him to his next destination before departure.
According to the release, the correspondence so issued, served as a final warning to them to desist from such unwholesome attitude and breach of protocol during the governor’s appointments, as any further occurrence will not be taken lightly.
The release stated, “His Excellency, the Governor, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno, PhD, has observed with displeasure the frequent attitude of EXCO members leaving or abandoning His Excellency’s Appointments while he is still engaging and interacting with people at the venue.
“This is a breach of Protocol and therefore unacceptable in all ramification.
“For the avoidance of doubt, EXCO Members are particularly expected to show good example by staying through His Excellency’s Appointment and escorting him to his NEXT destination before departure.
“This correspondence is hereby issued as a final warning to EXCO Members to desist from such unwholesome attitude and breach of Protocol during His Excellency’s Appointment as any further occurrence will not be taken lightly. Please be guided accordingly”, the release added.
