UNITED STATES
The African Women in Leadership Organisation (AWLO), under its founder, Dr. Elisha Attai, who is also the regional director of Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) for the African Union Sixth Region Global (AU6RG), seems determined to conquer boundaries in its drive to impact the world.
With a mission to advance women’s leadership status, by harnessing synergies and fostering mentorship, in order to achieve the vision of seeing Africa become a continent where women are valued as equal nation-builders, with access to opportunities in all spheres, this not-for-profit organization is at the forefront of empowering women leaders across Africa and beyond, and is open to women of African descent and a platform for dynamic women to thrive.
In recent time, and up till December this year, it has been another year full of activities, as the organization keeps moving around the globe, sensitizing, identifying, mobilizing and appreciating women of worth who are contributing to the advancement of the dream of the organization, as well as impacting development in their spheres.
From the AWLO Canada 2025 Women Convention and Legacy Awards on 5th July, at Courtyard by Marriott, Toronto Canada, where impact met influence through powerful conversations and impactful exhibitions, driven by inspiring panels, it was indeed a transformational gathering of women leaders, visionaries, change makers and trailblazers coming together to network, grow and lead boldly.
Then unto the successful hosting of the AWLO Diaspora Impact Summit 2025, on September 13, 2025 at Hilton Wembley, London, with the theme: “Awake African Diaspora: Innovating for Africa’s Future”. This was a strategic convergence of minds and momentum that sparked solutions for a self-sustaining Africa.
On the heels of the foregoing, the organization got done and dusted with the Pan African-American Leadership Award (PAALA), at Courtyard Houston Marriott, Katy Mills, Texas, USA. The October 11th event was indeed a celebration of 25 exceptional leaders of African descent, who are shaping the future of Africa and its Diaspora. It was also an event to promote Pan-Africanism, Africapitalism, Democracy and Global Competitiveness.
According to Attai, the PAALA platform was born out of a conviction that when African excellence is made visible, it becomes unstoppable.
“Too often, our stories of resilience, innovation, and leadership go untold. Yet, it is in these stories that the next generation of Africans, both on the continent and in the diaspora, find courage and purpose”, he remarked.
What’s more? Sun Hotel, Sandton, Johannesburg, South Africa, is set to receive hoards of professionals, scholars, business executives, diplomats and a host of others, for the AWLO G20 International Women Conference, 13-15th November, 2025.
With the theme: Solidarity, Equality, sustainability – Advancing Women’s Leadership for a New Global Order; the event shall further spotlight the pivotal role of women leaders in shaping global policies within the G20 framework and influence gender -focused declarations for sustainable progress.
From South Africa, the AWLO gospel shall move to Nigeria, and in Akwa Ibom State in particular, as the countdown has already started to the 16th anniversary and induction ceremony, billed for 13th December, 2025, at Four Points by Sheraton, Ikot Ekpene.
This event will be featuring induction ceremony, End-of-Year lecture, Partners Award Dinner and Anniversary Thanksgiving Celebration.
As AWLO moves, the founder has urged everyone to not miss out on the train to connect with women of worth, HeforShe champions, leaders, partners and change makers.
