A’lbom Judiciary Disposes 19,455 Cases During 2024/2025 Legal Year

The Chief Judge of Akwa lbom has disposed a total of 19,455 cases and generated N90,786,615.82 million at the end of 2024/2025 legal year of the State Judiciary.
Justice Ekaete Obot disclosed this on the occasion to herald the 2025/2026 legal year at the Multi-Purpose Hall, Judiciary Headquarters, Wellington Bassey Way, Uyo, recently.
A breakdown of it indicated that the State High Court disposed 5,339, the Magistrate court disposed 5,317, Mult-Door Court cleared 256, and District court disposed 8,460, while Probate Directorate disposed 83 cases.
Justice Obot said the Probate Directorate has achieved a lot and made great progress in the last legal year.
“A total number of publication for Grant of Letter of Administration during the said period was 1,432, while 984 Letters of Administration was processed and released during the said period”.
The Chief Judge stated that revenue generated for Akwa Ibom government from the month of August 2024 to July 2025 was N90,786,615.82 million.
She said in the year under review, the sum of N98,133,333.32 million was passed and approved as expected revenue for Akwa Ibom Judiciary but the Revenue Unit were able to generate the sum of N117,106,012.92 million, exceeding the approved provision by N18,972,679.60 million representing an increase of 119,33 percent.
Justice Obot maintained that in line with the policy of rewarding hard work and dedication to duty, all cadres of staff due for promotion have been promoted as at when due.
She thanked the Judicial officers and staff of the Judiciary for their support to achieve a great feat in the Judiciary and in the speedy dispensation of Justice.
