The Akwa Ibom government will, next month, host a Gas Aggregator Conference, in Uyo, the state capital.
Information on this was known, weekend, during a courtesy visit on the State governor, Pastor Umo Eno, by the minister of petroleum resources (gas), Obongemem Ekperikpe Ekpo, and the executive vice president (Upstream), NNPC Limited, Mr. Udobong Ntia, at Government House, Uyo, during which Eno assured the delegation of the full support of government.
The governor said the government would provide all necessary logistics, hospitality and security support to ensure the success of the high-level industry event.
Eno told them that the flagship projects, such as the Ibom Deep Seaport, Ibom Industrial City, expanded aviation development and maritime infrastructure, were progressing steadily, backed by a growing network of digital infrastructure and support systems designed to position the state for future growth.
In a major move aimed at strengthening the oil and gas sector and attracting strategic investments, Eno approved a no go office accommodation for use as SEPLAT Energy office at the Udom Emmanuel Towers in Uyo.
He lauded SEPLAT (formerly ExxonMobil) for its commitment to deepening investment in Akwa Ibom’s energy sector while emphasising that the state remains focused on building the infrastructure needed to attract and sustain meaningful investments.
Eno expressed gratitude to former Gov Udom Emmanuel for his foresight in building the iconic 21-storey Udom Emmanuel Towers, which, he said, today, serves as a hub for multinational corporations, including the upcoming SEPLAT presence.
“As we continue to build critical infrastructure, Nigeria and the global investment community will increasingly look to Akwa Ibom,” the governor said.
He acknowledged the role of the Gas Aggregation Company of Nigeria in expanding access and value within the gas sector and reiterated the state’s unwavering commitment to federal partnerships that drive economic development.
The minister of petroleum resources (gas), Ekpo, and the EVP (Upstream), Ntia, in separate remarks, thanked Eno for the warm reception and reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to working closely with Akwa Ibom to unlock the full potentials of the gas value chain.
