AKSG Restates Readiness To Partner Relevant Organisations To Promote Welfare Of Vulnerable Persons

Akwa Ibom government has reiterated its readiness to partner with relevant organizations to promote the empowerment and welfare of women, children and other vulnerable persons in the state.
The commissioner for women affairs and social welfare, Mrs Inibehe Etukudo, gave the assurance, Friday, when she received members of the Crusader Care Hub Foundation on a courtesy visit to her office.
  Etukudo commended the foundation for seeking collaboration with the ministry in the areas of women empowerment, child welfare and support for vulnerable persons in the state, noting that the administration of Governor Umo Eno, through the ARISE Agenda, places top priority on human capital development, particularly the welfare and empowerment of grassroots communities and vulnerable groups.
  According to her, the initiative was aimed at reducing poverty, especially in the rural areas of the state.
  While expressing optimism about the impact of the foundation’s programmes, the women affairs commissioner assured the delegation of the ministry’s support and cooperation to enable the organisation achieve its objectives for the overall development of the state.
  Earlier, the programme coordinator of the Foundation, Mrs. Jocelyn Effiong, said the visit was to familiarise the organisation with the ministry’s operations, noting that its programmes align closely with the foundation’s mission of supporting women, children and other vulnerable persons.
  She explained that the Crusader Care Hub Foundation was established in 2024 and became operational in 2026 as a non-governmental organization dedicated to humanitarian services.
  Effiong added that the foundation’s areas of concern were: providing care and support to displaced and vulnerable persons, as well as individuals who lack the means or access to improve their standard of living.
  She expressed confidence that a partnership with the ministry would enhance the foundation’s capacity to deliver meaningful support to vulnerable groups in Akwa Ibom.
  Also speaking, the Foundation’s field officer, Mrs. Mfonobong Bassey, appreciated the commissioner for the warm reception despite her busy schedule, as well as commended her for her dedication and commitment to the welfare of women, children and other vulnerable persons in the state.
  Bassey listed the foundation’s key areas of intervention to include women empowerment, child welfare, poverty alleviation, agriculture, and skills acquisition.
  She, however, expressed optimism that the proposed partnership would positively impact women, children and less privileged persons in Akwa Ibom.
High point of the visit was the presentation of a portrait to the commissioner by members of the foundation.
  Also present at the meeting was the director of Economic Services in the Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Nkechi Udo, Esq.
