… As Project Gains Momentum

The Akwa Ibom government and prospective partners in the Ibom Deep Seaport project have reaffirmed their shared commitment to advancing the Deep Seaport initiative.
Ibom Deep Seaport, which is a landmark Blue Economy project with the potential to position Akwa Ibom as a leading maritime, trade, and logistics hub in the Gulf of Guinea, gained momentum during the State government’s high-level technical engagement and working session with Africa Global Logistics (AGL) Group in Paris, France on Friday.
During the engagement, the governor of Akwa Ibom, Pastor Umo Eno, Ph.D, emphasised the need to accelerate project delivery and requested clear timelines, defined milestones, and actionable next steps to move the project from planning to execution.
A release by the State Commissioner for Information, Dr. Aniekan Umanah, stated that the session reviewed the recently submitted Technical Feasibility Report prepared by Worley Parsons and examined the critical pathways for investment, project implementation, and long-term sustainability.
The release said Governor Eno was accompanied by the chairman of the Technical Committee on the Ibom Deep Seaport Project and former director-general of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA), Mrs. Mfon Usoro, Esq.; Secretary to the State Government, Prince Enobong Uwah; Commissioner for Science and Digital Economy, Dr. Frank Ekpenyong; Managing Director of Hensek Integrated Services Limited, Engr Uwem Okoko, FNSE, among other members of the state delegation.
