AKHA Constitutes New C’ttee On Nutrition And Food Sufficiency

A Committee on Nutrition and Food Sufficiency has been constituted by the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly (AKHA).
The seven-member committee has the member for Ibiono Ibom State Constituency and  chairman, House Committee on Health, Mr. Moses Essien, as  chairman; member for Ibesikpo Asutan State Constituency, Pastor Ubong Attah, vice chairman.
Other members of the committee are member for Okobo State Constituency, Mr. Pius Pius; member for Mkpat Enin State Constituency, Mr Uwem Imo-Ita; member for Ini State Constituency,  Mr. Lawrence Udoide; member for Uruan State Constituency, Dr. Itorobong Etim and member for Eket State Constituency, Dr. Nsidibe Akata.
Constituting the committee during Thursday, November 21, 2024 plenary held at the Assembly Complex, Udo Udoma Avenue, Uyo, the speaker, Elder Udeme Otong, explained that the constitution of the new committee was in response to a directive from the Conference of Nigerian Speakers to all States Assembly for implementation.
Otong explained that the committee is to work directly with the National Assembly to ensure quality nutrition and food sufficiency as well as tackle health issues caused by poor nutrition in Akwa Ibom State.
The speaker who represents Abak State Constituency urged the chairman and members of the committee to live up to their responsibility in order to achieve the best for the state and her citizens.
He expressed optimism that with Essien chairing the committee, the best would be achieved, while wishing them the best delivery on their given assignment.
