AK Govt Prayer Committee Reiterates Commitment To Help Vulnerable Children

The Akwa Ibom government House Monthly Prayer Meeting Committee has reiterated its commitment to give sucour to the less-privileged persons in the society  

The chairman of the committee , Pastor Emmanuel  Bassey  made the pledge   when he  led members of the committee to the  visit the Band of Hope  Orphanage Home in Ikot  Ikpe, Okon  Eket  recently ,  said   the gesture was  imperative  to complement  the government efforts  in  caring  for  vulnerable  children.

He pointed that the committee prays every month for the governor, Mr Udom Emmanuel and the government as well as the people of Akwa Ibom.

According to him, the offering garnered from the payer meetings with the support of the governor was used in reaching out to the vulnerable ones in the society.

Accompanied by  members of the  committee ,  he extolled the management  and staff  of the home  for  the sacrifices  made to keep to protect, provide and  nurture the vulnerable  children  .

A member of the committee, Arc- bishop Isaiah Isong prayed God not to let the efforts of the care givers be in vain, but that God should bless and reward them abundantly.  

Responding, the proprietor of the home, Pastor Godwin Thomas, appreciated the governor and the committee for continuing to show love and care to the children, saying that they were enliven by the visit.

“We feel love by the support to the less-privileged ones under our care. This is a turn around to us and we are grateful to the government and the committee,” said Thomas.

According to him, 72 inmates were in the home, with 30 in secondary school, while the rest   were in the nursery/ primary school enjoying free education, shelter and feeding.  

He called on God to provide the committee with more enablement for selfless service to the society

Items donated include: cash, food stuff, beverages, detergents and toiletries.
