UYO
The State commissioner for culture and tourism has pledged to give the Ministry a facelift even as he called on staff of the Ministry to embrace maintenance culture for facilities at their disposal.
Dr. Anieti Udofia made the pledge, Wednesday, in Uyo, while on an inspection tour of offices within the headquarters of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, at the Idongesit Nkanga Secretariat Complex, led by the permanent secretary, Mrs. Grace Akpan, accompanied by heads of Directorates of the Ministry.
During the tour, the commissioner, who took out time to interact with the staff and assess their different daily tasks and assignments, urged them to take good care of facilities provided to them to enhance their performance, while charging them to imbibe good maintenance culture.
Udofia explained that the essence of the exercise was to identify with the experiences and challenges of staff in their offices and assess the condition of the facilities with a view to putting them in good functional state as well as work towards a facelift for the ministry.
