A’Ibom To Unveil 350 Bed International Hospital, Medical City

All is now set for the official unveiling of the 350-bed Ibom International Hospital and the Ibom Medical City project.
  The project which is a flagship health care development by the state government, is designed to strengthen medical service delivery, expand innovation as well as position Akwa Ibom as a leading destination for health care and medical tourism in Africa.
  A government release made available to The Pioneer indicates that the unveiling ceremony which is slated for tomorrow will be performed by the coordinating minister of health and social welfare, Professor Muhammad Ali Pate, at the Ibom Medical City along Uyo-Ikot Ekpene Road.
  “The Ibom Medical City Project is being implemented through a coordinated effort of the ministries of Health, Special Duties and Housing, and is designed to deliver an integrated health care ecosystem that combines clinical services, medical education, research, accommodation, innovation and wellness within a single development framework.
The project, which is supervised by Tokiye Integrated Medical Services (TIMS), a health care project development and management firm with operations in Nigeria and the United Kingdom, emerged from the endorsement of health care stakeholders following the Akwa Ibom State Ministry of Health ARISE Health Sector Town Hall Meeting held on Saturday, July 12, 2025”.
  “Key features of the Medical City Project include the 10-storey, 350-bed Ibom International Hospital, which will provide services through 24 specialty departments, 100-unit residential accommodation for medical personnel, medical research and training centres, pharmaceutical and laboratory hubs, and digital health and wellness infrastructure to support advanced health care delivery and medical tourism,” the release reads in part.
The state government invites all stakeholders in the health sector, development partners, members of the public and the media to attend and witness this historic milestone in the transformation of health care delivery in the state and across Africa, adding that the national coordinator, Presidential Initiative on Unlocking the Health Care Value Chain, Dr Abdu Mukhtar, will also be in attendanc
