… Education Commissioner Describes Victory AsSignificant Return On Eno’s Edu Investments

The victory recorded by the Akwa Ibom students at the 2024 Bilateral International Schools Debate in Singapore has been described as significant return on Governor Umo Eno’s investment in the educational advancement of the state.
The commissioner for education, Mrs. Idongesit Etiebet, who stated this, recently, while welcoming the winning team at the Victor Attah International Airport, Uyo, pointed out that the students’ achievement at the international competition was a testament to the governor’s commitment to education and the future generation of Akwa Ibom, adding, “I know as a loving and caring father, the governor will personally treat these great ambassadors to a warm welcome,” she disclosed.
Etiebet, who was highly elated over the students’ remarkable feat, congratulated them for being good ambassadors of Akwa Ibom in particular and Nigeria in general.
While admonishing the students to continue upholding the standard of excellence they have inculcated, the education boss commended the team lead, coach and other officials for their immeasurable contributions toward the students’ success at the competition.
In his remarks, the chairman of Mkpat Enin Local Government Area, Mr. Emmanuel Inyang, who was also at the airport to receive the students, congratulated the contingent for their successful outing, and also praisedGovernor Umo Eno for consistently positioning Akwa Ibom at an enviable height within the international community.
Speaking on behalf of other parents, Mr.Nkereuwem James, expressed appreciation to God for granting the students a successful outing, as well as the state government for sponsoring the team, pledging continuous support to the Umo Eno-led administration.
In their separate speeches, the students Aniebiet-Abasi Enobong Etukudo from Government Secondary School, Afaha Eket; Emmanuel Godfrey Wiafe, Community Secondary School, Aka Offot; Victory Mfonobong Daniel, Nigerian Christian Institute; Favour Daniel Paul, Christian Secondary Commercial School, Uyo, and Marvelous Nkereuwem James, Tevees International Secondary School, Uyo, thanked the state government for the sponsorship of the competition.
They particularly expressed appreciation to the state Ministry of Education for the transparency demonstrated during the selection process and pledged to remain good ambassadors of the state.
