A new comptroller of Immigration Service for Akwa Ibom State Command has assumed duty after the usual handover formalities at the weekend.
CIS Francisca Dakat is the first female and the 21st comptroller of immigration in Akwa Ibom State.
She took over from CIS George Didel, who has been redeployed to the Migration Directorate, Service Headquarters, Abuja.
Before her recent transfer to Akwa Ibom Command, Dakat was the comptroller of immigration, Rivers Marine Command, Onne, Rivers State.
Appointed into the Nigeria Immigration Service in 1990, Dakat has served in several positions, including deputy comptroller in charge of Investigation and Complaints Section at the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and acted as the comptroller of the command as well as comptroller, Free Zone, Service headquarters, coordinating all the zones in Nigeria.
Dakat, who was a member of the 24th Superintendent Basic Course at Immigration Training School is from Plateau State.
She holds a degree in Sociology from the University of Abuja and a certificate in Nursing from the School of Midwifery, Ola, Jos, Plateau State.
She is also a holder of a diploma certificate in Mass Communication from the University of Jos, Plateau State.
She has attended several courses within and outside the country, and has won many awards.
In her interaction with journalists after assuming office, shepromised to consolidate on the achievements recorded by her predecessor.
On the other hand, the outgone comptroller, in his message to the personnel of the command called on them to give the new CIS the same support and loyalty they accorded him.
