The Akwa Ibom governor has said the State has steadily made progress in the last 38 years of its existence.
Pastor Umo Eno, who stated this, recently, at the Government House Monthly Covenant Service, which took place, at the Banquet Hall, Government House, Uyo, noted that God has been faithful and has helped the State in the past 38 years through every leader, hence the reason for the annual State anniversary thanksgiving service scheduled for Sunday, September 21, 2025 at the International Christian Worship Centre, Uyo.
Eno said the thanksgiving service was expedient given the countless blessings of God upon the State since its creation.
“God has been faithful, has helped our State. 38 years ago, we were not like this. God has used every leadership he has brought to this State to help us, and we must be grateful, we must be thankful”.
He said there were numerous projects at different stages of completion, adding that the State, under his leadership, will continue to do its best to further on the development trajectory.
Eno stressed the need for everyone to get to work as a panacea to the socio-economic challenges, adding, “Akwa Ibom State was not operating on a communist philosophy, and no form of grant or palliative can be sustainable”.
The governor, who is the Undershepherd of All Nations Christian Ministry International, appreciated everyone who attended the 21st anniversary and Discovery Convention of the Church, in Eket, while also appreciating the homilist, and senior pastor of Christ City Church International, Bishop Uyioata Kingsley, and everyone for creating time to join in prayers for the State at the covenant service.
Ministering on the theme, “The Egyptians are men, not God”, with text taken from Isaiah 31:3, Kingsley enjoined Christians to always put their trust in God who is the author and finisher of our faith.
