The Akwa Ibom government has said that it has made huge financial investment to reclaim erosion ravaged areas for development projects in the State.
Governor Umo Eno stated this during a courtesy call on him by the delegation of the Nigerian Mining and Geosciences Society (MGMS), at Government House, Uyo, recently.
Represented by the deputy governor, Senator Akon Eyakenyi, the governor harped on relevance of the Society to Akwa Ibom as it relates to government vision as structured in the ARISE Agenda, pointing out that his administration has invested huge financial resources to reclaim erosion threatened sites and turned them into viable projects locations such Ibom ARISE Park and Resort, Uyo Correctional Centre, the Government House – Ntak Inyang Road, among others.

He applauded the Society choosing Akwa Ibom as the ideal place for its retreat, describing the state’s flagship air carrier, Ibom Air as a dependable service and the water-tight security and attested to safety in the State, as programmes that earned the state the advantage of playing host to the conference.
