The Akwa Ibom State command of the Nigerian Police Force has been provided with five additional brand new patrol vehicles by the State government to boost its service delivery.
The State governor, Pastor Umo Eno, who made the presentation, Friday, at Government House, Uyo, said the additional vehicles were to complement the earlier provision of 20 Toyota Hilux trucks to various security agencies to boost security operations in the State.
Eno lauded the commissioner of Police, CP Baba Mohammad Assari, for a job well done, and urged him to continuously be on top of his duty for a crime-free Akwa Ibom.
He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to ensuring that the State continues to be peaceful and free from any form of criminality that might threaten its peaceful and secure ambience.
Eno assured the Police and other security agencies of continued assistance to carry out their jobs effectively for effective security of the State.
“I am willing to put everything we have to ensure that we do not allow criminality to thrive in this State. In view of this, we have added five additional police patrol vehicles to the fleet of the State Police Command. We will continue to do this, not just for the police, but for the entire security architecture of the State”.
The commissioner of Police, CP Baba Assari, appreciated Governor Eno for the vehicles and pledged to work harder to secure and make the State more peaceful and free of criminality.
Assari thanked the governor for his remarkable support and partnership with security agencies in the State, describing it as “second to none” in Nigeria, and promised to ensure that the vehicles are properly deployed and utilised for their intended purposes.
