As Akwa Ibom marks its 38th anniversary, women from across the state have come together to express heartfelt gratitude for God’s enduring blessings and mercies, celebrating a legacy of resilience and determination.
The coordinator, Office of the First Lady of Akwa Ibom State, Lady Helen Eno Obareki, led a powerful gathering during the Women’s Monthly Prayer, offering prayers and songs of praise to God for His blessings through the years, and acknowledging the transformative impact of visionary leadership.
The commissioner for women affairs and social welfare, Mrs Inibehe Etukudo, highlighted the remarkable blessings of God upon the state, evident in the current administration of Gov Umo Eno, whose gender-friendly policies and initiatives have empowered countless women and girls, fostering a culture of inclusivity and equality.
Etukudo encouraged Akwa Ibom women to attend the state anniversary thanksgiving service, scheduled for Sunday, September 21, 2025, which took place at the International Worship Centre, emphasizing the opportunity to come together in gratitude and appreciation for Eno’s unwavering commitment to their well-being and advancement.
The commissioner announced plans to host a memorial service on September 26, 2025, at the All Nations Christian Ministry International, ANCMI, in Eket, in honour of the First Lady, the late Pastor Patience Eno, whose enduring legacy of compassion, wisdom, and leadership continues to inspire and uplift.
On the occasion, Evang. Becky Udom delivered a stirring exhortation on the theme, “September, my month of Evidence,” affirming that Akwa Ibom women have witnessed tangible evidence of God’s favor and faithfulness, and emphasizing the need to thank God for blessing them with visionary leaders who champion their causes and celebrate their strengths. Drawing from Exodus 33:14, she encouraged women to remain vigilant, expectant, and hopeful for the arrival of their breakthroughs and blessings.
The service featured inspiring testimonies, a birthday celebration for those born in September, and special intercessory prayers for the State, the Governor, and his administration, as well as the nation, fostering a sense of unity, solidarity, and collective purpose.
