…Commends Gov Emmanuel’s Footprints In Aviation Development

UYO

The chairman, Ibom Airport Development Company (IADC)Ltd, Dr. Iniobong Essien, has said that the PDP governorship candidate in Akwa Ibom, Pastor Umo Bassey Eno, is the most qualified amongst those presently seeking to succeed Governor Udom Emmanuel at the Hiltop Mansion come 2023.

Essien, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party from IbionoIbom Local Government Area, is a medical doctor and former commissioner in the state who had served former Governor Godswill Akpabio as his personal physician, a commissioner in his exco and also served as a commissioner in the current administration before his present appointment as chairman, Ibom Airport Development Company.

Fielding questions from newsmen, the IADC boss said Akwa Ibom needs a man with the capacity to pilot affairs of the state and sustain the peace, infrastructural and industrial development being witnessed in Akwa Ibom, maintaining that Umo Enotowers far above other contenders vying for the number one seat, and called on the people to rally round the gubernatorial candidate of the PDP for a prosperous Akwa Ibom.

The Ibiono Ibom-born medical professional opined that with Umo Eno in the saddle, Akwa Ibom is in safe hands.

Speaking further on the campaign manifesto of the PDP guberhopeful, Dr  Essien who is a member of the Medical Committee of the Umo Eno/Akon Eyakenyi Campaign Council, described the Arise Agenda of the PDP governorship candidate as the best campaign manifesto amongst the rest.

“I have assessed Pastor Umo Eno. He is sincere, he his focused. He has antecedents, having managed conglomerates successfully.  I think he will bring that to bear when he becomes governor. What we need to do is to encourage him with our PVC so that he can deliver those lofty promises to the state. Yes, there have been yearnings from a number of people, especially the people of Itu and Ibiono Ibom axis where I hail from, for the governorship slot to come to the area, but I must say here that God anoints leaders. That is my belief.  We should give Pastor Umo Eno the needed support to be able to take us to that desired destination.

“He is sincere about his passion for the state. We have a good product in Umo Eno, we have the market and he has all it takes. The visioner sees what others do not see. There is no former governor who has not added value to this state. The most important thing is that you are given a responsibility and you are able to discharge that responsibility. I see Umo Eno as one who is focused, who is sincere in leadership and who has capacity.

“He will also come on to build on a structure that is sustainable. Umo Eno’s arise mantra takes power to the grassroots. It takes development to the grassroots. His blueprint will address rural development, agriculture, infrastructural maintenance and many more. Governor Udom Emmanuel has done so much to put security in place. That is why our environment is peaceful. It encourages development. We have areas to market. I believe this coming government will also do this. Our people are not oblivious of the things that government has so far done”.

The Ibom Airport Development Company chairman had praised Governor Emmanuel for his development strides in the aviation sector, and particularly applauded his foresight in setting up the Ibom Air which has today become a delight in the nation’s aviation industry. He hinted that the MRO facility at the Victor Attah International Airport has attained a 90 per cent completion level, while the government has opened talks with an internationally certified aviation firm to handle operations at the maintenance, repairs and overhaul (MRO) facility. He hinted that the international terminal building which is nearing completion, the planned cargo facility and many other facilities will help a great deal in job creation, increase in revenue to the state and as well boost tourism.
